Waterproofing

Why metal Roof Insulation?

The majority of industrial sheds and warehouses have non insulated GI sheets as roofing. Metal is a good conductor of heat. Hence the heat transfer from the exterior to the interior is more. Also this roof are fixed with Bolts and nuts as a standard installation method.Due to the alternate climate and weather conditions, the risk for the rusting of the sheet joints is high and the fixation holes get widened. This can be the main cause for the water leakage in GI Sheet roofs, even if sealants are used to seal and tighten the bolts. For avoid these types of problem, Metal Roof Insulation is used.

Procedure for Metal Roof Insulation

  • Prior to the application of Spray Applied Polyurethane foam, the roof sheet must be properly cleaned.
  • The Polycare application team sprays POLYFOAM Polyurethane Foam directly on the GI sheets to assure seamless and fully bonded waterproofing and thermal insulation. All the joints and bolt holes are sealed and covered using the Spray Technology.
  • After the Spray Application, Polyurethane Foam has to be covered with an acrylic UV resistant coating. This coating is an additional waterproofing layer which protects and extends the life cycle of the foam.
